The HFC-125 extinguishing gas, commercially known as FE-25TM, NAF S 25®, MH125® is used in fire suppression systems and is framed into the clean agents category regulated by the NFPA 2001: Standard on Clean Agent Fire Extinguishing Systems.
The HFC-125 absorbs calories in molecular level faster than the heat generation, rendering impossible the fire maintenance, apart from that, it forms free radicals which chemically intervenes in the chain reaction of the combustion process.
It is a chemical agent with great extinguishing power and high hydraulic performance, for it demands smaller gas quantity and piping diameter, enabling adequacy flexibility to the layouts to be protected or retrofit of the existing Halon 1301 (through a new hydraulic calculation and the replacement of the diffusors).
The HFC-125 is a non-aggressive option to the ozone layer replacing the Halon 1301. Apart from that, it does not leave residues in the equipment after the discharge, being inoffensive to the individuals present at the site, being characterized as an environmentally correct and safe fire suppression agent both for people and equipment.
The HFC-125 suppression systems applied by SMH SISTEMAS® use clean agent and certified equipment UL, LPCB, VDS and CE.
